Army of Two: The 40th Day – Review

by on Feb.28, 2010, under Previews/Reviews, Reviews

Remember a while back when I did that preview of Army of Two: The 40th Day? If you can recall, my major complaint was my real life co-op partner, whose preferred version of the game consisted of being a major inconvenience at all costs. Well, I picked up the retail version of the game, and no longer have that complaint. Thank God for friendly AI. So, here’s a proper review of Army of Two: The 40th Day, the first review on this site that also got previewed (in case you were wondering). (continue reading…)

Hannah Montana: The Movie – Review

by on Feb.16, 2010, under Previews/Reviews, Reviews

Show of hands who played this game. Come on, ‘fess up. I know you’re out there, feeling slightly ashamed with yourself for even touching the case. Some of you have excuses. Maybe you have a little girl, and she wouldn’t shut up until you bought it for her. Fair enough. Perhaps you merely rented it to boost your Gamerscore. I can accept that, don’t worry. Anyone left who bought it because they thought it might be a good game? If there is, feel free to go outside and play with traffic. In the meantime, I’ll review Hannah Montana: The Movie (The Game, or, as swaggers put it, The Experience!) (continue reading…)

Mass Effect 2 – Review

by on Feb.09, 2010, under Previews/Reviews, Reviews

Oh, hello. What day is it? Right, right. Kinda lost track of time. Spent quite some time locked up in my room. Hell, I haven’t seen sunlight for so long it feels like my eyes are burning up! Sorry? What have I been doing? Well, you see, there’s this awesome new game called Mass Effect 2… (continue reading…)

Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing – Preview

by on Feb.09, 2010, under Previews, Previews/Reviews

Let’s face it, 3D hasn’t done anything for Sonic. Growing up as a Sega kid, I got to enjoy all his fantastic 2D side-scrolling adventures, and see the stupid transformation into a 3D platformer. Why Sega couldn’t just leave him as he was is just beyond me. The last straw was Sonic Unleashed, which was so god-awful I heard tell of grown men crying whilst clutching their Megadrives (Master System to you Americanos) and praying for a return to form. Well, we can expect that in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4, but for now, Sega have decided to give the old boy another bash at the world of non-platformers, in the upcoming Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing. With Banjo-Kazooie. (continue reading…)

Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce – Preview

by on Feb.09, 2010, under Previews, Previews/Reviews

Dynasty Warriors. Now there’s a series that’s gone down in history. It has everything; huge weapons, screaming guitar licks, tons of enemies and a bunch of women with large breasts. They just keep making more and more, and they’re all the same stupid good fun each time. So, naturally, the next in the series, Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce, is… an RPG? (continue reading…)

Aliens vs Predator (Multiplayer) – Preview

by on Feb.09, 2010, under Previews, Previews/Reviews

What’s a really long running horror-sci fi franchise that’s spawned a crossover with a stupid Arnie film? That’s right, Alien! And for bonus points you should guess that the crossover is with Predator. So Aliens vs Predator! Hey, I think I remember a demo for the multiplayer of that game being made available recently. Maybe I should do a preview of it… (continue reading…)

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 – Preview

by on Jan.30, 2010, under Previews, Previews/Reviews

A little game called Mass Effect 2 came out this week, and it’s pretty hard to stop playing it. Even for sleep. So clearly there’ll be a good review of it coming up when I finish it. Still, I am committed to my job here, so I regularly check the new demos to see what I can preview. And after a dry spell, it’s time for a bash at Battlefield Bad Company 2. The multiplayer, at least. (continue reading…)

The Saboteur – Review

by on Jan.22, 2010, under Previews/Reviews, Reviews

If there’s anything in the world I can tell you about, it’s probably Hitler. I’ve studied the guy for years, learning all about the crazy things that happened in his life that caused him to begin World War 2. So naturally, anything involving World War Two is interesting to me. Hence why I decided to give The Saboteur a go. (continue reading…)

Matt Hazard: Blood, Bath and Beyond – Review

by on Jan.13, 2010, under Previews/Reviews, Reviews

Remember that preview I did last? Ya know, I blasted Dark Void for not being any good. You may remember me mentioning a game called “Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard”. To re-cap, it was a pretty bad game, with clunky controls and mediocre graphics, but it was different because it referenced and made fun of pretty much every single popular video game ever made. The mention to it is surprisingly quite useful for this introduction, since I was reminded of that game when it’s sequel, Matt Hazard: Blood, Bath and Beyond, got released on the Arcade. (continue reading…)
